Sidmouth welcomes the Red Arrows
Every summer, Sidmouth becomes the ultimate vantage point for one of Britain’s most thrilling aerial displays: the Red Arrows over Lyme Bay. For unrivalled views and unsurpassed comfort, book a sea-view room at the historic Royal York & Faulkner Hotel on the Esplanade. From your private balcony or window, you’ll enjoy front-row access to every heart-stopping maneuver, then retreat to elegant lounges, fresh sea-air dining, and the warm hospitality that makes Sidmouth unforgettable.
The Red Arrows return to Sidmouth in 2025. On 22nd August, Sidmouth will once again welcome the Red Arrows display team to the skies above Lyme Bay. Following such a difficult eighteen months, it will be a big boost for locals and visitors as the display should prove to be as spectacular a event as it has always been.
Taking to the skies first is Rich Goodwin in his modified Pitts Biplane—now powered by two ATM Lynx Jet turbines in addition to its 8.5-litre Lycoming engine, promising a high-thrust performance full of dynamic aerobatics.
A highlight this year is the AeroSuperbatics Wing Walkers, making their Sidmouth debut. This world-renowned duo will perform daring routines atop two classic 1940s Boeing Stearman biplanes, delivering breath-taking stunts and precision flying.
As with previous years, the Esplanade will be closed for safety reasons as the event usually draws a huge crowd. It is best to arrive early to get a good spot on the beach. Those staying in a sea view room at the hotel will have amazing views from their window or balcony. A sight never to be forgotten.
Let’s hope there are clear blue skies as we welcome the amazing aerobatic teams back to Sidmouth.
